Low-Cal full Spaghetti dinner

Sep 06, 2015

As the hunger becomes more severe during these late stages of contest prep, I resorted to asking my wife to make a Shirataki spaghetti noodle dinner for me last night. It came out pretty good and was HUGE yet under 550 calories. I posted the details on instagram. Here they are:

So I did something that I said I wouldn't do yesterday: I asked my wife to make me some Shirataki spaghetti noodles. They are 4 grams of carbs per serving. I tried them in 2013 and they were just gross. They claimed to have a new and improved taste. She made meat sauce with two servings of spaghetti sauce, 8 ounces of 96/4 beef and half a serving of fat free mozzarella cheese. She mixed it with one package (two servings) of Shirataki spaghetti noodles. And one serving of Trader Joe's Breadsticks. Spaghetti and meat sauce and breadstick were all incredible and very filling. The noodles still turned my stomach a bit. If I were to have this exact meal again, I would do so without noodles at all. But overall, I recommend you to try them if you are deep in contest prep and form your own opinion. I didn't have any indigestion issues afterwards and I was stuffed, a little bloated and full for a couple of hours. 14 grams of fat, 53 grams of carbs and 62 grams of protein. #contestprep #hangry
